Our Physical, Digital Footprint

Examination of mapping by Justin Romine and myself. Inspired by our mutual fascination of the interaction between the physical and digital worlds. This work consisted of taking first hand data from the streets of Times Square and composing our data into a map.

Times Square is a frenetic crossroad that is highly visual and aural. The space is marked by its unusual combination of physical and digital experiences. Using QR codes taken from the streets of Times Square this map displays how companies have used their physical presence to occupy digital space. In this map, these two spaces which ordinarily never interact with one another have been displayed as one.
